Ashtavinayak Yatra Cost from Pune by Car (2026): Dzire, Ertiga or Innova Hycross

Published

The Ashtavinayak yatra from Pune by car costs ₹8,999 to ₹23,999 for the whole car, depending on the car you choose and whether you go for 2 days or 3. Every fare below is fixed. Fuel, tolls, parking and the driver’s allowance and night-halt charges are inside it, so nothing is added on the road.

Two plans are on offer. The 3-day yatra visits the eight temples of Lord Ganesha in the shastrokta order, starting at Morgaon and ending at Ranjangaon. The 2-day yatra visits the same eight temples in the order of their location. The day-by-day plans are on the 3-day shastrokta yatra and 2-day Ashtavinayak pages.

These are 2026 fares, the same on every day of the week. The Innova Hycross is a petrol-electric hybrid. The Dzire and Ertiga run on CNG and petrol.

Cost per head

Divide the fare by the number of people in the car. Figures are rounded to the nearest rupee.

For four people the Dzire has the lowest cost per head. For six, the Ertiga does.

What the fixed fare covers

  • Pickup from your home in Pune and drop back at your door
  • Fuel, toll charges and parking for the whole route
  • The driver’s allowance and his night-halt charges
  • An AC car, with drinking water kept in the vehicle
  • Your driver’s mobile number and the vehicle details, sent to you the evening before

What your family pays directly

These are not in the fare. You book and pay for them yourselves, so the amount depends on your own choices.

  • Stays. One night on the 2-day yatra and two nights on the 3-day yatra. On the 2-day route many yatris stay at the temple trust bhaktiniwas in Ozar, booked with the trust.
  • Meals and snacks along the way.
  • Darshan passes, poojas, offerings and donations at the eight temples.
  • The small entry ticket at the Lenyadri caves, which are a protected monument.
  • Travel insurance, if you want it.

We are a cab service with no link to any temple trust, so we cannot book poojas, passes or rooms for you.

Seats and bags in each car

On a 2 or 3 day yatra you carry overnight bags, so luggage matters more than on a day trip.

CarSeatsBags with every seat filledBags with fewer people
Maruti Swift Dzire42 large + 2 cabinSame
Maruti Ertiga6About 2 soft or cabin bagsAbout 2 large + 2 cabin, third row folded
Toyota Innova Hycross62 check-in + 2 cabin4 + 4, third row folded

The CNG tank sits in the Ertiga’s boot, which is why it takes fewer bags with all six seats in use. Six people in an Ertiga should pack one soft bag between two. Its compact size does help on the narrow approach roads at temples like Lenyadri and Pali.

Which car suits your group

  • Two to four people: the Swift Dzire, with room for two large and two cabin bags.
  • Five or six people with light bags: the Ertiga, the lower fare for a full car.
  • Six people with elders or more luggage: the Innova Hycross, which has the larger cabin and holds more bags with every seat in use.

To book, choose the plan that suits your family: the 3-day shastrokta Ashtavinayak yatra if the order matters to you, or the 2-day Ashtavinayak darshan package if you would rather spend less time on the road.

Frequently asked

Quick answers.

What does the Ashtavinayak yatra cost from Pune by car?

From ₹8,999 for the 2-day yatra in a Swift Dzire, up to ₹23,999 for the 3-day shastrokta yatra in a Toyota Innova Hycross. The Ertiga costs ₹10,999 for 2 days and ₹14,999 for 3 days. Each is a fixed fare for the whole car, with fuel, tolls, parking and the driver's allowance and night-halt charges included.

Is the fare per person or for the car?

For the car. It stays the same whether two or six of you travel, up to the seats in the car you choose. For six people in an Ertiga, the 2-day yatra works out to about ₹1,833 each.

What do we pay for separately?

Your stays along the route, food, darshan passes, poojas, offerings and donations, the small entry ticket at the Lenyadri caves, and travel insurance. You book and pay for these yourself.

Why does the 3-day yatra cost more than the 2-day one?

It keeps the car and driver for an extra day, adds a second night halt for the driver, and covers a slightly longer route because it keeps the shastrokta order. The fare for each is fixed before you travel.

Which car should a family of six take?

The Ertiga or the Innova Hycross, both of which seat six. With every seat in use the Ertiga holds about two soft bags, so pack light. The Hycross holds two check-in and two cabin bags with all six seats in use, and has the larger cabin for a two or three day trip.
